Triad by Guy Estes

Review of Triad by Guy Estes:

Triad by Guy Estes is the first book in the Sisters of the Storm series. This book is set in a fantasy world and centers around Aleena who is Chosen and therefore possesses super-human abilities. This book also has two other major characters, though they don’t appear until farther in the novel, one around the middle, and the third only in the last part of the book. While I did enjoy how the book was structured, I do hope that the author plans to round out the other characters more in the sequel. There were a couple small typing errors, such as dessert instead of desert, but overall the story was excellent. Some parts of them were a bit slow, but I think they helped pace out the action parts well and gave the reader an excellent idea of how the main character thinks and feels. The book spans the course of about 20 years, but it handled the time jumps quite well. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys fantasy novels, though there are some quite graphic fight scenes which would not be appropriate for younger audiences.
